Para-Standing BADMINTON
T3 Adaptive Racquet Sports will begin badminton classes in fall 2026 at a location TBD. In spring 2027, we will be moving into the City of Irvine’s new indoor badminton facility in North Irvine. The Irvine Fieldhouse will be one of the finest facilities of its kind in the west.
Interested in playing? We will have loaner racquets to use on site.
Athletes in the following classes compete standing:
SL3
Athletes with more severe lower limb impairments such as bilateral below knee amputations or a unilateral above knee amputation, cerebral palsy, and others
SL4
Athletes with less severe lower limb impairments such as unilateral below knee amputation, less severe coordination impairments, and others
SU5
Athletes with upper limb impairments such as amputations of the non-playing arm and/or playing hand, brachial plexus, cerebral palsy, and others
SU6
Athletes with short stature
Wheelchair Badminton

Interested in playing ? We will have loaner racquets to use on site. Let us know in advance if you need to borrow one of our sports chairs for the evening.
Anyone interested in joining our team as a volunteer badminton coach, preferably with adaptive experience, please let us know.
Athletes are classified into “Sport Classes” to ensure fairness in competition.
Athletes in the following classes compete in wheelchairs:
- Wheelchair 1 WH 1
Players in this class require a wheelchair to play badminton. Players in this Sport Class usually have impairment in both lower limbs and trunk function.
- Wheelchair 2 WH 2
A player in this class could have impairment in one or both lower limbs and minimal or no impairment of the trunk. Players are required to play on a wheelchair in this class.
